Internal Awareness vs External Expertise
Let’s begin by addressing the elephant.
Modern educated society relies entirely too much on qualified third party expertise. Especially in the fields of health and wellness, not only has the uneducated “patient class” been absolved of personal responsibility, but anyone looking to improve their own quality of life suffers from not having a language to describe the processes and discoveries of internal observation. The entire premise of body awareness, as practiced here, is based on the assumption that each of us can be our own, and our best, body expert by embracing and honing the practice of internal observation.
Body awareness is a learned personal experience.
Unlike in the study of external systems, the internal observer will only discover the workings of their own body. Even more, these individuals will see deeper and know more about their own body than any possible external observer. However, it is not alone that body awareness is discovered, but in the footsteps of others, both internal observers and external observers.
